New York Bottle & Packaging Company Expands to Northern Nevada

In the 28 years since its founding, SKS Bottle & Packaging, Inc., of Watervliet, New York, has grown into a multi-million dollar company and industry leader. With its growth came a need for a West Coast location to better serve and grow that segment of the market. The supplier of glass, plastic and metal containers, as well as caps, closures, packaging accessories and equipment hired UPS logistics Services to perform an extensive review of the operations and their customer base, and it was determined that Reno, Nevada, would be the best possible location for a second facility. SKS then teamed with Miller Industrial Properties for assistance with its site location and business set up. After a review of SKS’s current and future needs, MIP identified the perfect site in Spanish Springs – a 31,000 sf space – and negotiated both custom renovations and a great lease rate. “It’s my number one location with a great deal,” said Ken Horan, director of purchasing at SKS. “I couldn’t be happier with the results.” The location will accommodate the company’s needs now and well into the future.
